The Plummer Home will be hosting its Winter CD Release Party in the Opus Underground on Sunday, December 6th from 3:00 - 6:00 PM. The event will feature performances by Plummer Home & On Point kids, as well as Salem's Own The Dejas.

The Plummer Home serves young men and women in the foster care and juvenile systems; making sure they connect (or reconnect) with families who are unconditionally committed to nurturing, protecting and guiding them while teaching them skills and building their supports for a more promising future.
Plummer youth have experienced trauma beyond what most of us can imagine. One of the tools used to help kids move forward from these experiences is music. Music helps them heal. It gives them the courage to cope with personal histories filled with pain and loss.  It is cathartic.
Music helps kids communicate things they might not express.  It brings out a creativity they never knew they had. It gives them confidence.
Everything raised during the Winter CD Release Party will support the Plummer Home music program, which is paid for entirely through private donations.

This is event is just one of the monthly Sunday's that Opus has given to a Salem-based organization to help with fundraising and to build general awareness for the wonderful organizations at work within the Salem community.
